This is the perfect first set to get your younger thomas fanatics! It is relatively inexpensive and you can always build off it with expansion sets later on, of course! We love the water tower and the tunnel bridge. The set seems very sturdy. We always recommend getting tracks like this that are solid for younger kids. The taller Thomas and Friends wooden trains do not fit under the bridge so keep that in mind!

We have invested a lot of money into Thomas for our son over the last few years, and we have train sets, books, sheet sets – you name it. It was pretty much a no brainer when we stumbled along this Thomas mural on Amazon for about $20
It’s about 3′ by 2′ (and self stick), and you can customize your child’s room in seconds with this giant decal. It’s like having a huge Thomas fathead (lol). You can have your son or daughter help you attach it to the wall – trust me this is a LOT better than having to scrape tiny stickers off the wall from sticker books!
