Thomas Rosie for Trackmaster

When Nolyn first got into the Thomas trains, he would watch the videos on TV (on Sprout), and learn the names of all the engines. He began to figure out that new shows meant new friends, and new engines. Once he found out that you could “buy” all these new friends in the store, on eBay, on Amazon – he spent night and day looking for all of them online. I remember when he wanted the “Rosie” engine so badly – and we couldn’t find it at Wal-Mart or Meijer, or even on Amazon. It was the first engine we ever bought on eBay (new in the box) – and he was so thrilled when it came! BRIO Smart Warning Wooden Train Tracks

I know that Wooden trains have probably been around for centuries, and the great thing about them is the fact that (unlike some of their plastic counterparts) they can last for generations. Wooden trains also often leave a lot to the imagination and kids play a bit differently with them. I was kind of surprised to see these smart tracks from Brio – they have a sensor in them that alerts the matching Smart Reader engine, and when it hits this track – it actually slows down for a bit, and then resumes to full speed, much like a normal train would. Awesome! I might just have to order this one for Nolyn right away – we don’t have it just yet!

Busy Pull Thomas Train with Jumping Cargo

The nice thing about the busy pull or pull and go thomas toys are that they don’t require any batteries. If your child has the ‘thomas fetish’ as does ours, you know full well how many batteries you can go through! We buy our batteries at Sam’s club in packs of 48 at a time! So have a thomas toy that doesn’t take any batteries at all is simply great! In addition, this is a nice Thomas train toy for your toddler, since it’s designed for about 18 months. The pull Thomases were some of the first trains our son played with, and now that he’s older the other little kids that come over just love it too (although he still plays with it!). Nolyn Counts his Trains

Nolyn loves to count his Thomas trains. He lines them up all on the floor, and then likes to tell us what all their names are. I think this is mostly because he watches so many Thomas videos on YouTube and sees the other little boys from around the world do this in their videos, so he imitates it. It was so cute – we had to capture it on video for everyone to see!
