Thomas Mural and Wall Stickers

We have invested a lot of money into Thomas for our son over the last few years, and we have train sets, books, sheet sets – you name it. It was pretty much a no brainer when we stumbled along this Thomas mural on Amazon for about $20

It’s about 3′ by 2′ (and self stick), and you can customize your child’s room in seconds with this giant decal. It’s like having a huge Thomas fathead (lol). You can have your son or daughter help you attach it to the wall – trust me this is a LOT better than having to scrape tiny stickers off the wall from sticker books!

Thomas Tote-A-Train for Take a Longs

The Thomas Tote-a-train is perfect for Nolyn because he has to many of the smaller take along train sets. This medium sized tote is comparable to your hot wheels carriers for cars – only it’s for Thomas! We have 3 different kinds of Thomas around the house (in literally every room), the Trackmaster variety, the wooden railway sets, and then the smaller take alone tote sized sets. Since these smaller train cars (usually) don’t take batteries that’s a plus – and you can fit about 10 trains in this carrier. When you fold down the side it’s actually a short track, which makes it great for the car too!

Thomas Sir Topham Hatt Wooden Train

If you have Thomas wooden train, you have to get a wooden Sir Topham Hatt! We had bought a lot of wooden track and wooden Thomas engines, and at first didn’t buy any of the “off-track” things like Sir Topham, buses, trees, switches. We were kind of amazed when Nolyn was 2-3 and we got some of these – that he played out the scenarios from the Thomas and Friends episodes, and how can you do that if you don’t have the boss! Take Along Thomas Tidmouth Roundhouse

The Take Along Thomas “Tidmouth Roundhouse” is one of Nolyn’s favorite toys. I never thought we would buy this, because all of his Thomas toys were either Trackmaster or wooden tracks. If you haven’t seen the “take along” series by Learning Curve, basically it’s a bunch of mini-thomas trains and track. Most of the sets are designed to have a scenario in a foldable box (where the trains go inside). It’s great for the car, taking on overnights and playdates – it’s a great portable way to play with Thomas trains. The thing is, you’re buying “yet another” version of Thomas trains.

The reason we ended up getting this set, was because Nolyn has been wanting “Tidmouth Sheds” for a very long time – and we keep putting it off, since it’s some $200. If you buy the take along version of Tidmouth (the Roundhouse), you can get it usually around $30 or less! Plus – you get a thomas you can take with you on trips!

Hector for Thomas Wooden Track

This is “Hector” for Thomas the train wooden track. I know that Thomas wooden trains and tracks are more expensive, but I think that (because they are wood) – they will last much longer, and you can pass them down generations. Horribly enough (for us), our son Nolyn likes both the Trackmaster (plastic) trains and track, as well as the wooden ones – so we’re stuck buying cars, engines, and accessories for both!

Thomas Rosie for Trackmaster

When Nolyn first got into the Thomas trains, he would watch the videos on TV (on Sprout), and learn the names of all the engines. He began to figure out that new shows meant new friends, and new engines. Once he found out that you could “buy” all these new friends in the store, on eBay, on Amazon – he spent night and day looking for all of them online. I remember when he wanted the “Rosie” engine so badly – and we couldn’t find it at Wal-Mart or Meijer, or even on Amazon. It was the first engine we ever bought on eBay (new in the box) – and he was so thrilled when it came! Busy Pull Thomas Train with Jumping Cargo

The nice thing about the busy pull or pull and go thomas toys are that they don’t require any batteries. If your child has the ‘thomas fetish’ as does ours, you know full well how many batteries you can go through! We buy our batteries at Sam’s club in packs of 48 at a time! So have a thomas toy that doesn’t take any batteries at all is simply great! In addition, this is a nice Thomas train toy for your toddler, since it’s designed for about 18 months. The pull Thomases were some of the first trains our son played with, and now that he’s older the other little kids that come over just love it too (although he still plays with it!). When you pull Thomas the train cargo cars pop up and down – it’s sooooo cute!
